A: Sushi is a general term for a Japanese styled meal consisting of fish, rice, or both.
Q: Is all Sushi raw?
A: No, it's a general misconception actually. There are only a handful of fishes that can be and are served raw.
Q: What's the difference between Sashimi, Nigiri, Maki, and Rolls?
A: Sashimi is an assortment of raw fish and is generally an assortment picked by the Sushi chef. Nigiri is a hand-formed ball of rice, with a slice of fish over the top. If you take out the rice, you have Sashimi! Maki is a type of roll in which the seaweed wrap is on the outside of the roll. Rolls are when the rice is rolled on the outside and the seaweed wrap is rolled along the inside.
Q: What if I've never had Sushi before?
A: That's easy, just ask one of our experienced servers for tasteful suggestions or go up to the Sushi bar and strike up a conversation with the Sushi chefs. They can help guide you. And, of course, you can always ask your server to create a sampler platter for you. The more people you have at your table eating the platter, the more types you can try!
